The Boro Church

Who We Are

Dr. Carlos “Pastor Los” Worthy is the Lead Pastor of The Boro Church located in Willingboro, New Jersey.

A proud New Jersey native, Pastor Los brings his unique blend of energy, wisdom, and heart to everything he does. Before answering God’s call to ministry, he spent nearly two decades serving as a U.S. Army officer and federal public servant. His time in the Army included over 12 years on active duty and earning a Bronze Star Medal for his service during Operation Iraqi Freedom.

A Distinguished Military Graduate of Norfolk State University, Pastor Los also holds a Master of Business Administration, a Master of Divinity, and a Doctor of Ministry from Missio Seminary. Beyond The Boro Church, you’ll find him actively serving the community as a Police Chaplain for Willingboro Township, a VFW Post Chaplain, and the Chief Operating Officer of All Things Are Possible (ATAP) Foundation, a nonprofit empowering youth and enhancing the community.

At The Boro Church, Pastor Los is passionate about helping people experience God’s incredible love, build a life-changing relationship with Jesus, and live out their faith in ways that impact the world around them.

When he’s not preaching or serving, you’ll find Pastor Los enjoying life with his best friend and wife of over 20 years, Dr. Tiffani Worthy. He’s the father of three amazing children and grandfather of one grandson who keeps them smiling and grateful every day.

Statement of Faith

We Believe In:

Holy Scriptures
As originally given by God, divinely inspired, infallible, entirely trustworthy and serves as the final and sole authority for all aspects of life as a follower of Jesus.

One God
Eternally existent in three persons: the Father, the Son (Jesus), and the Holy Spirit.

Jesus
Our Lord and Savior, who God manifested in the flesh, His virgin birth, His sinless human life, His divine miracles, His atoning death, His bodily resurrection, His ascension, His continued reign, and His return in full power and glory.

Holy Spirit
Live a righteous and just life that witnesses and serves Jesus.

Salvation
Of the Lost through the shed blood of Jesus by faith, apart from works, and through restoration by the Holy Spirit.

Unity
There is one church, and one Body of Jesus made up of many different people, denominations, cultures, worship, and ministry styles. Therefore, we seek unity within the Body on essential doctrinal positions and liberty on the non-essentials (generous/beautiful orthodoxy).

Resurrection
Of both the saved (found) and the lost; they who are saved into the resurrection of eternal life and they who are lost into the resurrection of eternal damnation.

We are faithful believers in Jesus who are cleverly
disguised as loving neighbors within community as:

A community that recognizes that it is people and not the buildings that make up the church

A community of new beginnings – assisting people to get their life in alignment with God’s will

A community where imperfect people are welcomed

A community where people are invaluable – we care about the people inside and outside of our gathering place and not their money

A community where you can come as you are – the only dress code is that you wear some clothes

A community that represents where God wants you – it is okay to be nervous and have doubts

A community where men can be men and women can be women – we don’t seek to emasculate or desensitize anyone

A community where we want to know and grow with you – we know that your past does not prevent you from being transformed, through repentance, into a faithful follower/disciple of Jesus

A community where it is not about religion but about relationship
